What’s at Stake?
That’s all. The title is my post.
Ask yourself this question the next time you’re all worked up. Angry about something or other. Or feeling guilty. Beating yourself up. In a snit. Working yourself to the bone, for reasons you don’t completely understand. Distracted. Unsettled, anxious, fretful.
Maybe you’ll decide it’s worth it. Maybe not. The important thing is to know.
I took these photographs during June 2012 in the vicinity of tiny Aysgarth, England. My wife and I were on a walking tour of North Yorkshire. For some reason, the subject of this post made me think of that day. Maybe something to do with the fact that the congregation of St. Andrew’s dates back 1000 years. The building itself was rebuilt in 1536. Bolton Castle is 600 years old. Wordsworth, Turner, and Ruskin all visited Aysgarth Falls.
You get my drift.
